Title: Analyst -Associate Test Engineer

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Associate Test Engineer role involves acquiring the skills to plan and execute test scripts, ensuring the successful signoff of upgraded client applications with the latest product versions.

Test engineering is pivotal in planning and evaluating custom products, as well as collaborating with developers and client testing teams to guarantee seamless upgrades without critical defect leakage.

  • Acquires the skills to design and execute comprehensive test scripts and plans for product upgrades, ensuring thorough functionality testing

  • Gains proficiency in executing both manual and automated testing (Test Automation Center/Regression Runner test scripts) for upgrades, including integration testing and client regression testing.

  • Develops a deep understanding of quality testing standards and procedures, encompassing manual and automated scripts, tools, merging, continuous delivery, and continuous integration

  • Identifies, documents, and tracks defects using bug tracking tools adhering to team guidelines and collaborating closely with development and client teams to resolve and retest defects

  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts for the upgrade standard pack, improving testing efficiency and coverage

  • Acquires the skills to develop interaction and testing methods using tools such as Queries, xPath, Test Automation Center and Regression Runner

  • Assists developers in reproducing issues and identifying the root cause of simple to medium defects by recognizing common problem manifestations

  • Develops an understanding of the certification process for Duck Creek products from sprint and system test perspectives, contributing to optimization efforts

  • Collaborates within an agile team on test strategy and execution

  • Learns to design and develop necessary test data, as well as manual and automated test scripts for upgrade deliverables

  • Acquires and hones core test engineering skills, along with gaining industry-specific knowledge in Property & Casualty (P&C) and functional expertise in at least one Duck Creek product

  • Embraces continuous improvement by staying updated with the latest organization-supported testing tools, methodologies, and best practices, actively contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the testing process

  • Perform all other duties and activities as required

WHAT YOU’VE DONE: 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in Engineering, Computer Science or related degree

  • QA Skill Doman Experience: 1-2 Years

  • Product/Industry Experience: 1-2 Years

  • PREFERRED: Software testing background preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors:

  • Awareness of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies. (Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies)

  • Property and Casualty Insurance Experience with Commercial Lines

  • Requires analysis and solving of problems

  • Requires minimal instruction on daily work tasks and a moderate level of instruction on new assignments
