The MySchools Operational Support Project will provide critical support for the continued operation of MySchools, deliver technical upgrades to maintain compliance, implement enhancements to address evolving policy and leadership priorities, and ensure the smooth and timely execution of key enrollment initiatives that respond to the needs of families and other stakeholders.

The QA Analyst / QA Tester is responsible for conducting automated and manual tests to ensure software performance, functionality, and compliance with user requirements. This role involves designing and executing test plans, performing various types of testing, and identifying issues to maintain software quality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled in using advanced testing tools and methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Test Planning and Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business and functional requirements.
    • Conduct manual and automated tests to evaluate software performance and functionality.
    • Execute system tests, integration tests, regression tests, and load testing to validate software under peak traffic conditions.
Automation and Tools Utilization:
    • Use tools like Load Runner and Cypress to automate test cases and improve efficiency.
    • Write test scripts in Gherkin for behavior-driven development (BDD).
Monitoring and Analysis:
    • Utilize Splunk for monitoring system logs and diagnosing issues.
    • Analyze test results and report findings to stakeholders, ensuring issues are documented in Azure DevOps.
Defect Management:
    • Identify, log, and track defects to resolution using Azure DevOps.
    • Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely fixes and retesting.
Performance and Load Testing:
    • Conduct load and stress testing to simulate high-traffic scenarios and ensure system stability.
    • Provide recommendations to improve application performance based on test results.
Quality Assurance Processes:
    • Ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by assisting end users with test scenarios and issue resolution.

REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Expertise in design, development, and creation of test plans and supporting test cases for computer systems and business applications based on business and functional requirements.
  • Ability to execute manual and automated test cases.
  • 4+ years in software testing or quality assurance roles.
  • Expertise in test plan and test case creation for computer systems and business applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Load Runner, Cypress, and Gherkin for automated testing.
  • Proficiency in Splunk for system monitoring and log analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of defect tracking and resolution using Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with automated testing.
  • Understanding of performance profiling and optimization techniques.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple testing tasks and meet deadlines.
