QA Automation Engineer
Job Description
The team is looking for a QA Automation Engineer.
As a key contributor to the new product, you will play a critical role in
developing test cases and establishing QA processes and standards.
Upon joining, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for
the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment.
Responsibilities
- Lead Test Automation Initiatives: Drive the adoption and maturity of test automation processes, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and QA metrics & reporting for our innovative application.
- Requirements Traceability: Manage requirements traceability and track feature completion using test cases captured in Azure Test Plans / Test Suites.
- Automated Test Development: Develop automated test cases in Playwright for new functionalities based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Bug Reporting & Quality Metrics: Create and review detailed bug reports and share quality metrics with the team and stakeholders.
- Identify Improvement Areas: Detect bugs, application weaknesses, and target areas for enhancement.
- Maintain Code Quality: Uphold the quality of test case code in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
- Manual QA: Perform manual QA as needed.
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in agile ceremonies, reporting progress to the Scrum Master, Tech Lead, and Product Owner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Design, Product, Developers, and other QA engineers to solve problems and resolve issues.
Requirements
Experience:
- At least 4+ years of experience as a QA engineer.
- Automation Frameworks: 3+ years of experience using automation testing frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright (Playwright is strongly preferred).
- Testing Expertise: Strong experience in functional testing, UI testing, API testing, E2E and regression testing.
- Frontend Knowledge: Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React.js.
- Open Source & CI/CD: Experience with open source tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Agile Environment: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Software Skills
- Primary Tools: Playwright (strongly preferred)
- Additional Tools: Familiarity with Cucumber and Selenium is a plus
- Technologies: Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and Node.js
- CI/CD: Experience running tests in CI/CD environments
- Azure DevOps: Familiarity with Azure DevOps Test Plans and Test Suites, and a solid understanding of TDD principles
