We
are seeking a highly skilled Backend Automation Tester with a minimum of 5 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for
testing backend services, including APIs, databases,
and microservices. The ideal candidate will collaborate
closely with development, QA, and product management teams to ensure
high-quality software through comprehensive automation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with
the QA
Lead and Product Management teams to define effective test cases and
test plans.
- Design and
implement automation test flows, applying problem-solving and debugging
skills.
- Identify,
document, and manage defects using tracking tools such as JIRA and Mantis.
- Perform testing in
a fast-paced
Agile environment, ensuring solutions align with requirements and acceptance
criteria.
- Develop and
execute functional, performance, and ETL/integration tests to maintain
quality and scalability.
- Conduct regression testing for the overall
product and provide detailed execution reports.
- Adhere to Agile
methodologies and project-defined processes.
- Write, execute,
and automate SQL queries (SQL Server, MySQL) for data validation and testing.
- Integrate
automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for continuous
testing and real-time feedback.
- Develop and
maintain automated test frameworks for backend systems, including GraphQL/RESTful
APIs and microservices (preferred).
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Minimum 4+ years
of QA experience, with at least 2 years in API automation.
- Strong experience
with databases (MySQL,
PostgreSQL) and writing complex SQL queries.
- Hands-on
experience with API automation (GraphQL preferred, RESTful APIs good to
have).
- Experience in data-driven and Behavior-Driven
Development (BDD) frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with Karate Framework or Katalon for API
automation is a plus.
- Previous
experience working with USA/European clients is an advantage.
- Experience in multi-vendor,
multi-culture, distributed onshore/offshore teams is beneficial.
- Ability to present technical
suggestions and explain automation strategies effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills.
