Senior Quality Manufacturing Engineer


Position Overview:
The Sr. Quality Manufacturing Engineer will designs systems by which production quality can be checked in an ongoing process. In addition, he/she will work with the production team to implement any new testing criteria.Β Β Β Essential to the execution of these roles is the collection and analysis of data which is obtained from production or laboratory processes and effective collaboration within the company.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Β 
  • 6-10 years of experience providing Quality Assurance support to a department.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of experience with the ISO 9001 auditing process, Advanced Product Quality Planning (AQPQ), developing process control plans, and Failure Models and Effects Analyst (FMEA)
  • Six sigma training, preferred.
Duties:
  • Act as the main Quality Assurance resource for department supervisors, focusing on problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish, implement, and document quality standards and requirements for product manufacturing and inspection.
  • Design and apply methods for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
  • Work with suppliers, customers, and internal process owners to resolve quality issues and ensure the implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Establish supplier quality requirements and monitor and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Support New Product Project teams to provide for smooth transition of New Products into the regular manufacturing process.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal process owners to resolve quality problems and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Working knowledge of the Lean / Six Sigma problem-solving methodology.
  • Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing with product improvements.
  • Highlights potential quality issues to management in a proactive manner.
  • Responsible for documentation for first article inspections as part of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
