QA Lead

Position Overview: The Load Testing Lead QA is a specialized role within the bank's Quality Assurance department, initially starting as a solo contributor with a focus on designing, developing, and executing load testing strategies using Java and Gatling. This role is critical to ensuring the scalability and performance of our banking services and applications under varying levels of user load. Based on the outcomes and the evolving needs of the department, there is a potential to build and lead a dedicated load testing team. Key Responsibilities: * Load Testing Expertise: Develop and execute comprehensive load, stress, and performance tests using Gatling and Java. Ensure our banking services and applications can handle projected user loads with efficiency and stability. * Strategy Development: Create a load testing strategy that aligns with the bank’s objectives and technological architecture. This includes identifying key performance bottlenecks and providing actionable insights for improvement. * Tool and Framework Development: Develop and enhance testing frameworks and tools for load testing. Implement best practices for automated load test scripting and execution. * Performance Analysis: Analyze test results, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and work closely with development teams to recommend solutions. Prepare and present detailed reports on test outcomes and improvement strategies. * Solo Contributor to Team Leader: Begin as a solo contributor with a clear roadmap to potentially build and manage a dedicated load testing team based on performance outcomes and project needs. * Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate load testing plans, progress, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of performance testing impacts and needs. Qualifications and experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. * Proven 5+ years of experience with load testing, specifically using Gatling and Java. * Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, principles, and practices. * Experience in developing performance testing strategies for complex applications in the banking or financial services sector. * Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. * Excellent communication and documentation skills. * Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as potential to lead a team. * Solid knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
