Senior QA Engineer

As a business product QA Engineer, you will be responsible for product verification testing on NETGEAR Smart switches products. This is a hybrid role, expected to be onsite 3 days a week.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Create suitable/new test cases to verify layer 2/layer 3 switch functionality, device performance, and security.

  • Recreate the customer issue and co-work with RD/Support/ODM or chipset vendor to determine the root cause and answer technical-related questions.

  • Perform the functional testing per the test plan.

  • Review/Modify the manual test cases based on different requirements from the customer or PE.

  • Generate testing reports on each testing firmware and follow up for bug resolution.

  • Learn and understand the functions/features of the product being tested.

  • Train engineers with job-related knowledge.

  • Double confirm the test case steps and work with the automation engineer to easily automate.

  • Communicate and cooperate with automation QA engineers to debug issues when found by automation scripts.

Skill and Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in networking product testing.

  • Familiar with L2/L3 Switch Testing.

  • Familiar with L2/L3 protocol, TCP/IP, NAT & Firewall, IGMPv2/v3, NTP, DNS, FTP, HTTPS, 802.1x, QoS, SNMP Testing.

  • Familiar with network-related application software testing and environment setup, and able to work independently.

  • Knowledge of networking devices such as ethernet switches, routers, and access points.

  • Knowledge of traffic generators, such as Ixia and Spirent.

  • Experience with automation script development is a plus.

  • Knowledge of script programming language or Java/Python programming is a plus.
