Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Test Engineer to join our innovative engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will perform formal software testing activities for complex software applications. This role is pivotal in driving our efforts in one or more phases of software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering critical to the USPS mission.

 

Work Location: 100% Remote

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Reviews user requirements documentation; assists in development of test plans.
  • Develops test data to be used in performing tests
  • transforms test plans into test scripts. Ensures proper execution of test scripts and documentation of test results in tracking systems.
  • Analyses test results, documents conclusions, and makes recommendations that are fully supported by test results.
  • Performs all functional duties independently.
  • Works on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s).
  • Oversees the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
    Analyzes user/business software system requirements and write appropriate test cases to validate that all business rules are being followed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 9+ years experience. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • U.S Citizenship or Green Card holder.
    • Residing in the U.S for the past five years with no more than 6 months travel outside the U.S. during this time frame.
    • Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members)
  • Experience testing software applications, writing and executing test scripts.
  • Experience with Selenium testing tools.
  • Experience with Unified Functional Testing (UFT) testing tools, ALM, SQL (SQL developer) and UNIX.
  • Basic understanding of API calls.
  • Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.) experience.
  • Experience with tracking tools (e.g. Rational, Mercury).
  • Experience with test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports.

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
