The Test Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing test data sets to support testing activities within healthcare systems. This role requires close collaboration with QA teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that test data aligns with healthcare regulations and application requirements, ensuring comprehensive and accurate testing.Β Key Responsibilities:Β - Data Creation & Management: Design, create, and manage test data to support functional, integration, and performance testing within healthcare systems (such as claims, member management, EDI, and eligibility systems).Β
- Data Masking & Anonymization: Apply data masking techniques to comply with healthcare privacy regulations (HIPAA) and ensure that personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) are protected in test environments.Β
- Automation Integration: Work with automated testing frameworks, including TOSCA, to ensure test data is available and can be generated dynamically for automated test cases.Β
- Test Environment Support: Support test environments by ensuring data availability, consistency, and reliability across various test stages.Β
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with the development, QA, and operations teams to understand data requirements and provide accurate test data for all testing phases.Β
- Healthcare-Specific Testing: Leverage healthcare domain expertise to develop data for testing billing, claims processing, patient records, and regulatory compliance workflows.Β
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation of test data processes and generate reports that outline test data usage, issues, and coverage.Β
Required Skills & Qualifications:Β - Experience in Healthcare Systems: Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HL7, EDI, HIPAA, and working with healthcare management systems (e.g., Facets, Epic, Cerner).Β
- Database Expertise: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and management. Experience with relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.Β
- Data Masking Tools: Experience with data masking and anonymization tools to secure sensitive data.Β
- Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) that impact data handling and privacy.Β
- Problem Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot data-related issues and support QA teams with data for specific test scenarios.Β
Preferred Qualifications:Β - 5+ years of experience as a Test Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related role.Β
- Experience working with cloud-based environments and data integration tools.Β
- Exposure to healthcare claim processing, member management, and eligibility systems.Β
