Job Description

Pay rate $29.80. 

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00 pm and 11:59 pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00 am-4:59 am) 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot & repair 30HP to 75HP motors submersible & turbines.  
  • Troubleshoot and understand the operations of a pressure vessel.  
  • Operate submersible Well pumps.  
  • Analyze and repair electrical malfunctions.
  • Work from blueprints/schematics to perform maintenance/repair or install equipment.
  • Report (in writing) materials and replacement parts needed for jobs; prepare and maintain maintenance invoices required.
  • Direct/instruct subordinate employees still in training (e.g., Electrical Maintenance Mechanics; Classes B and C).
  • Determine proper size and specifications and perform electrical maintenance on miscellaneous items such as wire, conduit, fuses, motors, switches, panels, lighting, relays, control devices, etc.
  • Prepare layouts of electrical circuits
  • Inspect motors, motor control centers, junction boxes, circuit breakers transformers, fuse panels, lighting, and heating.
  • Perform installations, connections, adjustments, and calibrations of electrical gauges, meters, etc.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience pulling and repairing well pump for minimum of 10 years.  
  • Experience with running & operating pump truck with hoist minimum 10 years. 
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of training on the job and/or formal schooling.
  • Must have and maintain a California driver’s license and an acceptable DMV record.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.  
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, be on call or times dictated by live production needs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work from a ladder.
  • Ability to read pump curves, electrical motor diagrams/schematics.
  • Ability to calibrate total pumping head and flow rates.  
  • Must operate and maintain company vehicles under company guidelines and policies. 
  • Use of basic hand tools such as a hammer, screwdriver, pliers, tape measure, wire strippers, power tools – Sawzall, grinder, drill, impact drill
  • Use of electrical voltage tester/meter etc.
  • Must have knowledge with equipment replacement, parts, and material.
  • Basic knowledge in electrical field (120/240vac, single phase, 3 phase and rotation (208,240,480).  
  • Work from blueprints and schematics to repair or install new equipment. 
  • Assist in training subordinate employees (Mechanic C, and Semi Skill Laborers). 
  • Must be able to instruct and coordinate subordinate employees (semi skills).  
  • Must be able to get material list and complete jobs as needed.  
  • Effectively quote and complete projects  
  • Must be able to work closely with vendors and contractors to complete projects.
  • Must be able to keep projects within budget. 
  • Knowledgable in sizing wire, conduit, and transformers etc. 
  • Must have knowledge of different pipe material (PVC, Galvanized)
  • Must be able to aid Contractors within our department (with Wells)
  • Ability to take charge in leadsperson’s absence.
