The Staples Technology team is looking for a skilled and strategic QA leader to oversee key initiatives within our Digital Engineering group. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in QA processes and technology, who can establish best practices and drive quality across our digital products. The QA leader will play a crucial role in mentoring and shaping a team of QA professionals, ensuring they execute a comprehensive QA strategy that aligns with the broader vision of our Engineering department.
Specifically, You Will:
- Lead and oversee the QA pods, ensuring each team operates efficiently and meets performance expectations.
- Monitor progress across all pods to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and deliverables are consistently met.
- Provide support and remove blockers by regularly checking in with pod members and addressing challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Development, Product, etc.) to align QA efforts with project goals and timelines.
- Ensure comprehensive test planning, with QA team members creating detailed test plans covering functional and non-functional requirements.
- Define and maintain a robust testing strategy, balancing automation and manual testing for optimal efficiency.
- Track and report key QA metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect density, test execution progress) to measure quality effectiveness.
Some of what you need:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field.
- Extensive experience with Playwright, SQL, REST API testing, Postman, Jira, and Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps Test Plan module, including test library maintenance and execution tracking.
- Strong Agile expertise, with hands-on experience using tools such as Jira and Azure Boards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale digital projects simultaneously, particularly in:
- Business transformation initiatives
- Evolving and ambiguous business requirements
- Implementation of new and emerging technologies
- 5+ years of QA experience in complex e-commerce web applications, API testing, and test automation.
- 2+ years of leadership experience, managing QA teams or mentoring groups of testers.
