Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldnβt work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions β to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, weβve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes β large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. Weβre building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
Our hardware team builds the tangible connection to all that is Square. We started with the simple, iconic card reader that turns any phone into a mobile point of sale. Since then, we have expanded our hardware portfolio to meet the needs of more sellers. Although the technology inside our hardware is growing more and more complex, the end goal is always the same: elegant hardware that our merchants are proud to show to their customers.Β
The Manufacturing Test Engineering team at Square is responsible for making sure that the millions of hardware devices leaving our factories are built according to design and meet (or exceed) customer expectations. Weβre a diverse group of engineers that use our unique backgrounds to solve challenging problems in our factories. We dabble in electrical engineering, software, mechanicals and data analysis to understand the design intent of our products and how we can translate it to scalable test plans. We are Jacks and Jills of all trades, and we thrive on having a deep systems-level understanding of Squareβs hardware products.
We are looking for a manufacturing test engineer to work on factory testing and development for Squareβs most complex product to date. You will report to our Manufacturing Test Engineering manager and work closely with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Software teams to design, build and support test stations running in Squareβs factories around the world.
