Summary of Position:

 

The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) will be responsible for responsible for testing software to ensure it conforms to expected design requirements.   The QAE with develop, maintain and execute test cases for the software applications for Avivatech. The testing will also include software/hardware integration and API testing. The QAE collaborates with product managers, designers and developers to communicate results to resolve bugs and suggest improvements for a better user experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test case.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • Design, develop and execute manual and automated scripts.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to review requirements and defects.
  • Educate and train the Product and Support teams after each release.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required 

  • 3-5 years of testing experience in web-based and object-oriented software applications.
  • Experience with DevOps (TFS) or similar issue tracking tools.
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Test Case Management tools (E.g., DevOps or HP – Quality Center).
  • Above average technical capability (E.g., Reviewing log files, editing JSON/XML, etc.).
  • 1-2 years with SQL.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements of the Job: (Indicate what the physical requirements are to complete the essential functions of the job, i.e. lifting, standing, etc.   Also indicate any working conditions that may be out of the ordinary, i.e. travel, on call or unusual hours, exposure to noise, etc.).

  • Position requires ability to work with personal computers for an extended period.
  • No expected travel but may occur on occasion.
