We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer specializing in manual testing for both web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and expertise in validating the quality, functionality, and performance of software across multiple platforms. This role involves working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure web and mobile applications meet the highest standards of quality before release.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manual Testing:
- Perform comprehensive manual testing on web and mobile applications, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies across web and mobile platforms.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide clear and concise bug reports to the development team.
- Validate compatibility across various devices, browsers, and operating systems for web and mobile apps.
- Test Management:
- Utilize test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar to track and manage test activities for web and mobile testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements, identify risks, and establish the testing scope for web and mobile applications.
- Participate in test planning, risk analysis, and release readiness assessments specific to web and mobile app projects.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with development teams to understand the architecture and requirements of web and mobile applications
- Provide continuous feedback and support in improving the QA processes for web and mobile platforms
- Engage in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives within Agile development frameworks focused on web and mobile testing.
- Reporting
- Provide regular updates on test progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders
- Maintain proper documentation of test cases, test results, and issue tracking for both web and mobile applications.
Requirements:
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software QA with a focus on manual testing for web and mobile applications.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in writing and executing manual test cases for web and mobile platforms.
- Experience with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC in Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Familiarity with browser and mobile testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs) for cross-platform validation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on app and web functionality.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with browser developer tools for web testing.
- Basic understanding of mobile testing frameworks or tools (e.g., Appium) is a plus.
- Basic API testing knowledge using tools like Postman.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
- ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certification is a plus.
- Experience in mobile app testing, including Android and iOS platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud-based application testing is a bonus.
