Position Overview:
The IT QA Lead is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process within an IT environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software and systems. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish, maintain, and enhance quality standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Strategy and Planning:
- Define and implement the overall QA strategy, processes, and standards to align with organizational goals.
- Plan and coordinate QA activities, including test planning, resource allocation, and schedule management.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA professionals to ensure productivity and skill development.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the QA team.
Test Management and Execution:
- Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Ensure thorough validation of software applications against requirements, identifying and resolving defects.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Communicate QA progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders and management.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously refine QA processes and methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive automation initiatives to optimize testing efforts and reduce time-to-market.
Tool and Technology Management:
- Evaluate, select, and implement QA tools and technologies to support test automation and management.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance QA practices.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide detailed reports on QA activities, metrics, and product quality to leadership.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with 3+ years in a lead role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA life cycle.
- Experience with QA tools such as Selenium, JIRA, TestNG, or similar.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
Certifications (Preferred):
- ISTQB Certified Tester or equivalent.
- Agile-related certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master).
Work Environment:
- Hybrid or onsite environment, depending on organizational needs.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams across different time zones.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration
Minimum Compensation: USD 50,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 200,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
