Overview

MoneyForward provides "MoneyForward Cloud," a cloud service for businesses that solves various money-related issues.

Among them, MoneyForward Cloud's HR domain services started with the release of "MoneyForward Cloud Payroll" in 2015, based on the background of "money exchange between companies and employees.Since then, we have expanded our product lineup and now offer seven products in the HR domain.

MoneyForward has decided to accelerate the growth of this business and is focusing on it.

With an increasing number of users and an expanding organization, we are looking for someone to improve the quality of our products and manage the QA team.

Current Issues

The QA organization of MoneyForward had been limited in its activities because quality activities were carried out under an in-house contracting system, making it difficult to guarantee product quality at a high level and to design quality in the medium to long term.

In order to break through this situation, MoneyForward as a whole has decided to commit to "quality" in the next 10 years and is actively taking action, including the establishment of an organizational structure.

  • Juichi Takahashi, a leading expert in software testing, assumed the position of CQO.
  • CQO Office established in May 2023 with a mission to improve quality across the entire company, including overseas offices.

The mission of the CQO Office is to "formulate quality strategies for MoneyForward as a whole," "determine the progress of quality strategies based on data and instruct business units to make improvements," "develop quality technology with a two-year perspective (automatic test generation using AI)," and "select or develop testing tools (automation framework) for use across MoneyForward. In order to successfully integrate these strategies, there is an urgent need to hire high quality personnel (for the entire life cycle) in each product team, including the HR Solution Division.

The HR Solution Division (HRS) is currently promoting quality activities, but there is still room for improvement from both the organizational and quality perspectives due to the rapid growth of the business and organization, the globalization of the development organization, and the launch of new products.

Therefore, we are looking for a person who can look across multiple HRS products and work together with the development team to lead the adaptation of quality improvement activities to new development processes such as Agile, shift-left, automation, and so on.

Main Responsibilities

The mission of this position is to improve quality and processes from upstream to downstream processes by establishing and implementing QA strategies for the HR domain in the back-office SaaS (Software As A Service) "Money Forward Cloud," as well as project management operations.

  • QA organization management, member management/training (multiple locations: members in Japan, Vietnam)
  • Formulate mid- term / long-term testing strategies (unit testing, integration testing, system testing, functional / non-functional requirements, including automation)
  • Defect data collection, measurement, analysis, and making countermeasures for continuous quality improvement
  • Standardization or process improvement of development/testing processes
  • Review of member outcome (e.g., test plan/test design/test summary/defect report, etc.)
  • Vendor control

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in team management for 5+ members
  • Experience in cross-organizational testing process standardization or improvement
  • Experience in test strategy development and execution with awareness of Quality Cost Delivery (QCD) and the test pyramid in automated testing
  • Experience negotiating with project managers and engineering managers
  • Excellent problem solving skills in ambiguous situations and experience making decisions in such situations
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Processing or Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge (e.g., Basic Information Processing Engineer)
  • At least 3 years of experience in software development as a developer or equivalent
  • ISTQB or JSTQB certification or equivalent knowledge; Advanced Level is highly recommended.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Domain knowledge and evaluation experience in B2B or HR domain products
  • Knowledge and working experience of software processes in agile development such as Scrum and DevOps
  • Sense of responsibility with commitment to product quality
  • Proactive attitude to communicate with various stakeholders across departments

Language Requirements

  • Basic business level English proficiency (TOEIC score of 700 or above equivalent)
  • Japanese level N3 or higher (able to understand Japanese documents)
