Job Summary:
The Lead SDET is responsible for driving quality across multiple squads, defining and implementing testing strategies, and mentoring team members. This role requires a strong foundation in software testing, automation, and data technologies, along with leadership capabilities to influence quality direction across teams.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Define, implement, and drive adoption of comprehensive testing strategies across multiple teams.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (developers, product owners, etc.) to integrate quality into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Mentor and guide SDETs, fostering continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
- Promote early quality interventions through practices like shifting testing left.
- Advocate for appropriate testing methodologies, including BDD, TDD, and performance testing.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven leadership experience in quality engineering and testing strategy implementation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of quality and best practices within an organization.
Role-specific Requirements:
- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, including Star Schema design and ETL/ELT processes.
- Strong SQL skills (SQL Server & Oracle).
- Expertise in automation framework design and implementation using Python and Pytest.
- In-depth knowledge of core testing concepts, including test case management, defect management, and BDD using Gherkin.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services.
