- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, and/or other Engineering and electronic drafting and modeling program considered a positive asset, but not required.
- Speaks clearly and confidently in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the testing environment.
- Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling, grammar, and content; presents numerical data effectively.
- Able to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, procedures, and written information.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in the decision-making process.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
- Adheres to written and verbal instructions, responds effectively to management direction, takes responsibility for personal actions, and consistently honors commitments.
- Ability to use and operate manual and powered hand tools with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate equipment such as manual lathes, mills and drill presses preferred but not required.
- Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person of an alternate plan.
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence with minimal assistance and provide feedback.
- Capable of computing averages, standard deviations, ratios, and percentages with minimal assistance.
- Able to draw and interpret statistical charts and graphs with minimal assistance.
- Average computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and write in English.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science.
- One or more yearsβ prior experience; if in a related field, industry or work environment is considered a positive asset, but not required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
