Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

 

Test Consultants are concerned with the independent verification and validation of the products produced by the development process. Testing is carried out in each phase\: the requirements are tested by an acceptance test, the system design (analysis and design) by a system and integration test, and the programs by a program and module test.


 

Required Skills and Experience:


 

You design and develop more complex tests and non-functional tests. You perform many of the roles required of a software testing project, through which you acquire a full testing lifecycle experience. Typically you perform these roles as a senior member in a wider team. You act as a stream leader with technical delivery ownership within a limited number of technology areas. You contribute to bid or client proposals based on your technological expertise. You have delivery ownership and guide individuals and groups towards desired outcomes. You also actively participate in at least one community.


 

• Certification\: Should have SE Level 1 and seeking level 2, 6-8 years (2 years min relevant experience in the role) experience, Bachelor's degree

• Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Testing Lifecycle, Testing Expertise, Testing Techniques, Testing Management, Architecture Knowledge, Technical Solution Design and Quality Management.

Minimum 5+ years of test automation experience

Must have Skills:
Automation framework and methodologies.
Complete hands on - Develop, design and execute test automation scripts using tools/frameworks such as Selenium and SoapUI.
Post man/API automation
Understanding and Analyzing Test Requirements
Automation Framework Design & Implementation
Selenium Test Environment Setup (Maven Integration, Selenium WebDriver, Java, TestNG and Jenkins Integration…)
Jenkins, Maven,  repository, code configurations etc. 
Inspecting Elements, Create Test Cases using Element locators and Selenium WebDriver Commands. Diff frameworks – BDD, TDD etc.
Enhance Test cases using Java Programming and JUnit / TestNG Annotations.
Maintenance of Automation Resources…
Parsing and Converting the reports into diff formats (automated way).
Expertise in GitHub, bitbucket, merging code methodologies, automation tools – UFR etc.
Logs – Dev console, back end through Putty/SSH etc.
Communications skills 
o    Coordinate with testing team to conform end user product and quality requirements and delivery  schedule.
o    Enhance test frameworks and develop automated tests using tools/technologies (selenium, SOAP UI, API automation etc.) to ensure consistency.
o    Estimate test accurately and coordinate with team members for work activities.
o    Help the team - Apply, design and develop automated testing strategies and build automated testing frameworks.
o    Should lead the team in resolving all the bottlenecks and establish the appropriate communication channel with onshore team. Should be proactive.

Nice to have:
Virtual machines – overview, connections etc.
Microservices integration 
Power BI
Strategic design/solutioning perspective

Years of Exp:
Previous experience as a Test Automation Engineer (5-7 years of experience)
Proficiency in programming languages such as C# and Java.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Highly accurate and detail-oriented
Role Description:
Can work on latest technology stack – API/Postman/Selenium/3rd party tools integration etc. 

 

Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.
