Test Manager

Veterans Engineering is seeking an experienced Test Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the successful completion of the initial scope listed below. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and resources to ensure that project goals and objectives are achieved on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The Test Manager shall have fifteen years’ experience, of which at least ten years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes leading system and/or software test teams, full lifecycle software deliveries from development to final software acceptance, process validation, computer system validation, and test method validation. General experience includes increasing responsibilities in information systems design and/or management.

Test Manager shall have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or other related IT or technical discipline. Test Manager who is certified in program management by an accredited (ANSI/ISO/IEC) recognized institution, such as being certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The Test Manager must be certified by the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) or have an equivalent testing certification by another body.

The ideal candidate provides support to client internal programs and initiatives by assisting with ongoing tasks.

1. Facilitating project schedules, and offering detailed reporting. This support enables smooth program management, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices. 

2. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Management: The project takes charge of overseeing all aspects of UAT for the applications within the client's testing portfolio. This management entails resource allocation and meticulous planning, including scope and requirement document reviews, to create comprehensive test plans and scripts.

3. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Execution: As part of their quality assurance activities, the contractor conducts various testing types, such as subject matter expert (SME) testing, automated testing, integration testing, regression (end-to-end) testing, and smoke testing. Their thorough execution ensures the reliability and functionality of each system release or patch.

4. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Reporting: The ideal candidate diligently provides detailed reports on all UAT activities. Utilizing dashboards and formalized testing reports, they offer comprehensive data and analysis to keep stakeholders informed throughout the testing process.

5. Post Deployment and Production Support: Beyond the UAT phase, the ideal candidate remains actively involved in providing production support and coordination. They engage in activities like monthly Coordinated Installations (CI), effectively communicating with stakeholders, and proactively identifying potential risks to aid leadership in decision-making.

Skills you will need:

• Ability to stay organized with strong attention to details.

• Project plan development experience – Ability to map structure processes to a defined plan, communicate direction, and work together as a team to meet objectives.

• Strong documentation skills to capture the key details of each working session, extract action items and deliverables, maintain tracking of all action items and deliverables, and ensure they are completed on time in a cross-functional team.

• Comfortable with follow-ups, gently but firmly pushing back, and holding team members accountable to ensure deliverables are met.

• Proactively identify risks and opportunities.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of applicable experience

• Proven track record of supervisory roles

• Must be able to pass a Federal Government background check

• Must be available during normal business hours
