The work environment

The Team Test European Payments is responsible for testing activities in the domain payments processing (within equensWorldline’s account payments division; mainly SEPA payments and Instant payments). The testing activities are functional, non-functional and BAU-testing with focus of test automation. The team supports the activity of bringing together new clients and our payment factory, as well as it handles changes coming from existing clients. Additionally, the team offers production support.
The team has a number of important additional challenges to deal with. The first one is that the number of test engineers are expanded with colleagues in near- and offshore locations. Setting up and managing efficient and effective multi-location cooperation will be required. The second one is that the company is implementing in a step-by-step approach an agile way of working. This implies major changes for the test team which need to managed carefully.
There are two test teams located in Frankfurt and in Utrecht. We are looking for a team manager for the location in Utrecht. This team consists about 20 testers and test managers who work together closely with the team in Frankfurt.

What will be your job?

Your tasks are:
β€’ Day-to-day management of the testers and coordination of key tasks, resources, and operations;
β€’ Develop and oversee internal processes to ensure efficiency, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction;
β€’ Coaching the team by working with definitions of development and quality measures
β€’ Provide key client management support and manage key relationships;
β€’ Support the team during daily tasks (test management, preparation of tests, automation, documentation, and reports);
β€’ Working together with the test team manager in Frankfurt as well with the near and offshore test teams; alignment of testing processes and documentation;
β€’ Work closely with other teams in other departments, such as business analysts, development, and deployment;
β€’ Implement processes that integrate the near- and offshore teams in an efficient cross-border cooperation;
β€’ Support and steer the transformation to agile development and test processes.

What do you have to offer?

β€’ Bachelor or Master Degree, preferably in the fields of computer science;
β€’ Proven working-experience as test manager or team manager;
β€’ Solid technical background, with an understanding of or hands-on experience in software development;
β€’ Excellent client- and internal communication skills;
β€’ Excellent English and Dutch skills, written and verbal communication skills;
β€’ Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills;
β€’ Experience in the Financial and/or Payment Industry is a bonus;
β€’ Experience in agile development and test processes;
β€’ Experience with near- or offshore cooperation in development and test organizations
β€’ A flexible attitude; job scope is likely to change and this must be considered a challenge instead of a threat.
