QA Analyst

Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for writing test plans and performing manual executions of testing across a variety of software products. Testing results must ensure all quality, compliance, functional and security requirements are met. You will also maintain documentation of test configurations and operational procedures in order to report results to the project team and assist in the diagnosis and replication of product success and failures.
This position supports the Retail Technology Operations team as a QA Analyst doing manual in-person testing. Giant Eagle has both Supermarket and Gas\Convenience locations and we have several different types of POS systems from traditional checkout with cashiers, Self-Checkout, mobile POS, fuel pumps, and Restaurants. There are also many other interfacing applications and systems like the Made To Order kiosks, car washes, Pharmacy, etc. We are a Toshiba POS ACE customer and we do our own development as well on that platform, therefore testing will involve vendor packages and in-house developed code. We are currently using JIRA\Zephyr for test plan management and practice agile methodologies. The testing will be done in person in our POS lab that has all of the various checkout points described.

Job Description

Key Competencies:

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years Manual testing
  • Experience Required: previous experience testing for Toshiba POS ACE hardware and software
  • Experience Desired: JIRA;Zephyr
  • Education Desired: Bachelor's degree Information Technology or related field

Job Responsibilities

  • Β Execute manual testing according to test plans, identify discrepancies and clearly document defects, errors, interoperability flaws, and other issues within pharmacy software applications.
  • Create, maintain and execute test plans for all Pharmacy production applications to ensure versions/releases/patches are viable for production and interoperable among internal/external systems.
  • Analyze functional specs and testing output in order to identify discrepancies, propose solutions and clearly document all defects for the project team.
  • Demonstrate a methodical, detail-oriented, and thorough approach to all assignments adhering to defined timelines while being able to remain flexible to demand and quickly re-prioritize when constraints arise.
  • Maintain strong understanding of retail Pharmacy business which includes operations, procurement, managed care, supply chain, finance/analytics as well as security and compliance in order to demonstrate effectiveness in your domain.
  • Evaluate current test practices and make recommendations to improve processes and execute a path to the use of testing automation that exists within the organization.
  • Provide leadership and explain the testing methodology, processes, tools, templates, environment, and concepts to other team members within the Pharmacy Quality Assurance team.
  • Use excellent communication skills to clearly explain complex technical issues to colleagues and stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Maintain skills and understanding of all new products and agile methodologies for Quality Assurance in the software testing environment.
