Position Summary

The Software Test Engineer will support testing of the medical products throughout the development and maintenance lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support verification activities for a complex medical imaging system.
  • Write test plans, write, and execute test protocols and report bugs found during testing.
  • Work closely with engineering to help them understand the issues found.
  • Validate non-product software.
  • Participates in product reviews to ensure consistency, correctness, and testability of requirements.
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining result.

Impact on Product Quality

This position includes the verification of safety critical features. Undetected anomalies could lead to a degraded product performance and could potentially cause life threatening situations for patients.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or other related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-7 years of hands-on experience testing medical device systems.

Job Skills:

  • Must be flexible, highly organized, and have a passion for testing.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • High integrity, tremendous work ethic, and the passion to succeed.
  • Experience with test automation is desirable.
  • Working experience with Atlassian tools desirable.
  • Working experience with C, C++, Linux is desirable.
  • Experience with complex medical imaging products is desirable.

This position might require occasional travel (up to 20%), including, but not limited to, visiting hospital ORs.
