Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement testing procedures for automatic transmissions, including performance, durability, and functional tests.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development of best practices in testing
  • Ensure that all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues.
  • Design and build automatic transmission testing equipment to validate build quality of remanufactured assemblies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of testing procedures, results, and modifications made during the testing process.
  • Assist in training team members on testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role within automotive testing environment.
  • Proficient in testing methodologies and tools. Familiarity with data analysis software and automotive diagnostic tools.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understand operational theory of automatic transmissions.
  • Experience with assembly of complex hydraulic/mechanical assemblies.
  • Must possess solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be extremely flexible regarding priority changes.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and/or safety manuals.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with testing equipment specific to automotive transmissions.
  • Experience using National Instruments LabVIEW
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electronics, and software used in modern automatic transmissions.
